Welcome to your child’s last term at Corpus Christi School. We cannot believe it has gone so quickly, but we are looking forward to a busy few months.
As you are aware, the SATs tests will be taking place the week beginning 13th May. It is essential that your child attends school all of that week. A more detailed letter regarding SAT’s will be sent home shortly.
In the build-up to SATs, we will be revising key elements of the maths and literacy curriculum. Please will you support your child at home by helping them complete their homework tasks to the best of their ability? Please also continue to use the very helpful websites pointed out to you at parents evening.
Although we are endeavouring not to stress the children, we do however want the children to be prepared and do their very best in their tests to ensure that they are placed in the correct sets in secondary school.
As well as SATs preparation, we will continue to deliver a broad curriculum based around out topic of Ancient Greece. Please see the attached curriculum map for addition information.
After the SATs have finished, the children will be doing a host of fun activities including their trip to Marchant’s Hill (14th – 17th June) and preparation for the year 6 production. They will also be competing in sports day and enjoying their leavers disco. We will be reminding the children that having the privilege of the these activities comes with the responsibility of behaving well at all times and setting up to positions of responsibility around the school and within the local community.
May we remind you that there is a meeting on Wednesday 24th April at 7pm to discuss arrangements for Marchant’s Hill. It is essential that you attend as we will be handing out information packs, medical forms etc.
We are really looking forward to this term but are aware that your child is facing a time of change. Hopefully they are excited, but if they have any worries please do not hesitate to contact us.
