Remembrance Day
This year, our chaplaincy team planned and delivered a collective worship in preparation of Remembrance Sunday. Based around the scripture:
John 15:12–13
Jesus said, ‘This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.’
They shared the message from Jesus reminding us that the greatest kind of love is when someone gives their life for others. That’s what we remember today- the people who have shown great love by serving and protecting others. And Jesus also asks us to live with that same love in our own lives- by being kind, forgiving, and peaceful.
The chaplaincy team left us with the mission to REMEMBER!
On Sunday 9th November, we came together with our local community to join in a parade on New Malden high street. We gathered together in pray to remember.
On Tuesday 11th November, each class were given a time gather together in collection worship and to place the poppies that they had made at the front of the school and took the time to remember those who have suffered due to war. The whole school had a minute silence to remember those lost in war.
