Dyslexia
Diagnosis
Dyslexia can only be formally diagnosed through a Diagnostic Assessment carried out by a certified assessor.
At school, we can complete a number of assessments which will help to build a picture of your child's difficulties over time. These assessments may include;
- The York Assessment for Reading Comprehension
- The Helen Arkell Spelling Assessment
- Read, Write Inc. Phonic Assessment
- Curriculum Based Measure for Writing
For a formal diagnosis, an assessment must be sought privately. To find out more, go to the British Dyslexia Association
