School Start is an intervention for children in Reception which supports them to overcome speech and language difficulties so that the best may be gained from their school, both in learning and in making friends.  

Parents can play a very important part in the success of speech and language support and you may be asked to carry out an activity at home.  The key to improving children's understanding of different concepts is to use them regularly.  For example, if the new word to learn is "hot" then using the word whenever possible (in the bath, on a hot day, by the oven) will be very helpful.
